Looking at purchasing 40 acres in Brazoria county along 35 south west of Alvin along a bayou.

Anyone know how good the hunting is in that area? Any issues I should be aware of?

Any advice would be appreciated from locals who know the area

If you PM me an online listing or exact address, I'm familiar with some of the areas down there. There is great hunting a lot of places in Brazoria County, but it's not a "can't miss" county.

i would say the likelyhood of having hogs would be good. Deer were always few in that area, but populations may be on the upswing from when I kicked around that area

i assume your close to chocolate bayou

You might have a few deer and hogs. You will have mosquitos and flooding when it rains.

In Brazoria County, you can get an idea of how a place is to hunt by the number of Chinese Tallow trees there are around. If the place is over run with tallow trees, there will be few deer. If you have some good hardwood bottom land with oaks and pecans, good chance the hunting will be decent. What they said about mosquitos, BOY HOWDY.

The deer can't eat anything from the tallow trees and they shade out most of the good browse.

Thanks, I'm going to see/walk it tomorrow and it does border Chocolate Bayou.
