My old 870 is on year 11. She's been through the frozen Minnesota waterfowl seasons, Texas mud, Kansas cornfields. Shot everything from rock salt to slugs and everything in between. Not only is she still reliable, but other than some minor pitting dang near new. It was the gun given to me by my father and will be passed down to my children. 870's are tough to beat.

We interrupt this marriage for hunting season.

I personally own 2 870 Wingmasters one is from 1971 the other is from 50/60s and I owned (past tense) 2 x 870 express guns when you put them side by side there is no comparison, action on wingmaster is smooth as silk, 870 express feels like they poured sand into the action.

1 of the 2 express 870s would stove pipe every 3rd round it also would fail to feed (round would not drop from mag tube upon racking action), the other one never would pattern "on target" with the factor sight. (6-8 inches low and left)

I'm sure they had some decent run 870 express guns, I never owned one.

EDIT: No parroting here, just real life experience.

The action is a bit smoother, I'l agree with you there. I'm just a fan of any company that puts out a quality product a reasonable price.

Only problem now is they don't make them anymore. Can't believe that web page is even still up. They haven't been listed at that price for a long time.

My SBE is hitting 10 years now. Had my 870 for 20. Both great.
