I just purchased a new WW1 Colt repro 1911. It is in the origin white box, blue box and still wrapped in the brown cozmoline paper.. I saw one at Cabelas and the gun show for 2500.. Would mine be worth more than that because of the condition. Again I understand it is the reproduction but I believe there were only so many made and at the 400 I paid for it, sounded like a solid deal.

Nah probably worth $50 bucks, wanna sell it? Just kidding
I'm no expert but I think you got yourself a heck of a deal.

Solid deal, as long as it is a real Colt. If it is real Colt then no matter what that gun is worth a grand. IF it is a repo Colt, made by a Euro company than you have a $600-750 gun in this market.
If it truly is a collectors Colt than you have something really special.

It truely is the collectors colt.. Where could I go and have it appraised.. Seriously not sure if want to keep it.. I like to shoot and would feel bad keeping this in the safe.

Live right. Do right. Demand the same in others. Screw off. Lie and cheat. Have no regard for the actions of others.

colt will provide a letter of authenticity. Last I checked they charged $75 but it would pay for itself many many times over if you decide to sell it. Post some pics and I guarantee they will come out of the woodwork to make offers if it is real.

Most of these type items are overpriced for the impluse buyer, if you check w/some private dealers you will get a true value..ones with shops tend to price items so they can offer even less and try and purchase them..DD
