Mary's Cafe in Strawn is at the bottom of my list. Pass there going to and from my lease. The optimum word here is PASS. Never understood the "cult" status of Marys!! We had a discussion about that same thing last year at the lease. Consensus was those that love Mary's it love for quantity not quality. Lots of a bad thing is still bad IMO  Agreed. Tried it again recently. I don't get it. Apparently a lot of folks never had a good CFS.

Back in the day, Flossie's across the street was the place for chicken fried steak. Mary's? Never eaten there.

BJ'S (the name is fitting) good beer however
Outback steak house
The burger is the only thing I've had at BJ's that wasn't great. Really liked their fish and chips and their pizza is AWESOME!

With all the bad BBQ places everyone is mentioning, I would have bet everything I own that Bill Miller's BBQ would have made this list. I think it's awful. x1000 quite possibly driest bbq i have ever eaten. actually didn't finish my meal, got up, found management and got our money back and left.

Chipotle is the crappiest of burrito places imo boo. i could eat a chipotle everyday, i love it! freebirds is the crappiest, will never eat there again in my life, had a bad experience once that i cant gloss over.
If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

Cafe 290 in Manor, TX. From 1992, when I started going there, until they changed ownership in the late '90s or early 2000s, I would claim they had one of the best chicken fried steaks in the State. I wouldn't even bother going in there now. I used to go back and try it every 6 months to a year since it changed, but gave up in 2011.

Only place I can think of that I ate at and thought, "Man this food is horrible", is a little mexican joint off 153 in Winters called Rangel's.
It was BAD! I will forever make the extra drive into Ballinger!!!!

Waffle House in Weatherford on I-20
Now I've always like WH ok, at least for breakfast... but we stopped and got a hamburger steak (it was on sale or something made us buy it...) it was a really dry burger patty (no gravy) and some hash browns.... WORST thing I've eatten for as far back as my memory goes!

I was with him.... maybe that is the cult following? lol.... pretty sure it was a one time deal... and an oversight at that by a young waiter

I've been to Mary's once. Had the CFS as advised and thought it was excellent - they cook it on the flat top rather than deep frying it. I can't speak for anything else on the menu.

Buffalo Wild Wings is definitely dead to me. Their food is garbage, and I've had terrible luck with service on several occasions at different locations... leads me to believe it's more of a management problem. I'm not usually one to knock on the food-service industry. Server's put up with a lot of crap, and not everything is in their control. I do enjoy exercising my CHL rights in there, however!

Typically any restaurant that is a Chain. Seems that once a restaurant goes big time the quality suffers. Give me a Small business Anytime.
