Hey I was just wondering if any of ya'll have experience with these rifles and this brand/company. I've been wanting a single shot rifle like this for awhile and I'm thinking hard about getting it. Below is a link to the rifle I've been thinking about.

http://www.texasjacks.com/catalog/produc...4/category/889/

Also I'm thinking of getting the rifle in 405. Wincheter. What do you think of this caliber/rifle combination.

U might check out the pedersoli hi wall. Cimarron is the importer of uberti the same gun just more expensive. Especially from tx jack. They are all good guns. I have several just different styles.

The 405 is a good round, if you reload it is a better round. I do like the High Wall, That is the action that started Browning with Remington after they foundout about his Browning 78. Strong action and can be quite acurate.

Have a Browning Highwall used in 45-70 if you might be interested shoot me a PM

i have a 1885 browning i like it why not look at it and i thought it was browning who designed it for winchester , it was his first design that went into production , the 1885 winchester it also came in a low wall model, i believe the remington was a rolling block

From what I have read Browning and his brothers were building the singleshot model 78 in Utah and Winchester liked it, bought their first pattent from Browning made a minor change and introduced it as the Winchester 1885. There is a low wall version that was made for lower powered cartridges. Browning in the modern era has made and sold the B-78 along with remakes of the 1885 in low wall and high wall versions. Those can be found on the used market for at or less than some of the Italian made imports.

The Remington single shot is a rolling block and while a good design not nearly as strong as the falling block designs

Browning does make a very nice Hi Wall. All of winchester guns came from Browning Pattens, hi wall to levers.

Hey, Ya'll seem in the know of where I can find a lever gun from Uberti. What would be most ideal is a set as I would like to get into CASS or INCOWS (i think that's it) any way, the deal is I'd like to get a rifle and pistols in the same caliber. I Had a Cimarron in .44 a while back and loved the thing just traded it away for some other tots and now regret it and want to find new stuff. Any help let me know by pm would be fine. Thank you.
