looking to replace the trigger on my son's Stag AR-15. Looking for something easy, quick and not too light of a pull.

Geiselle are the best but trigger pull may be a little light. Rock River 2 stage is a fine one. The Timneys or Chip McCormick triggers are suppose to be good and are complete drop ins.

Wilson Combat offers a couple options as well.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

I should have added "and best (as in cheapest) place to get one"

Pretty much have to religiously search the Internet for availability and prices right now. I usually look at Ranier Arms, Primary Arms, DSG Arms and Bravo Company. Might look at Larue's website won't get the cheapest price but they usually give a bunch of swag with their orders and they're a Texas company.

Timney is a pretty darn good one . Still haven't shot a geiselle I am happy with the Timney but if I had shot one with a Geiselle before buying the Timney the choice would have been for a Geiselle. Both are good triggers but like the feel of the Geiselle better.

I have a Geiselle High Speed and can honestly say I don't know how it can get better. It is expensive but very nice.

I run two Timney single stage 3 lb triggers and couldnt be happier. I had a rock river two stage but I like single stage as I hunt with my guns. Timney's take all of about 10 minutes to install. CMC (Chip McCormick) are good too but they have a hokey C clip install that can snag or fail.

I put a Timney 3# on mine. Oh my lord is it light and easy. With the limited shooting I do, I can't say it's the perfect trigger, but it is night and day better. The only negative is that I may should have gone with a 4#. My $0.02.

Both are good triggers but like the feel of the Geiselle better. Which one did u use . There are so many choices with geiselle I almost like my mega trigger better . It utilizes the milspec hammer . I played around with a few and the mega is adjustable for taking out the creep and such . For $100 it's a damn good upgrade from milspec

Agree with the Geiselle SSA-E. Great trigger for the AR.

Anyone have experience with the JP triggers or the AR Gold ones?

I put a Spikes nickle boron "battle" trigger with JP springs in my lower. It is light and breaks clean, but not a hair trigger. Got both the trigger and spring kit online from Joe Bob's Outfitters.
It is not "the best" but it feels very good at way less than half the cost some of the other options listed above.

I run a JP match trigger installed and tuned by Morgan at Dallas Shooting Supplies. It's not as easy to install as a drop in trigger, but it is cheaper. It is a nice trigger, breaks very clean. It's a single stage. If you wanted to drive out to Garland shooting range one day during the week days, you could shoot it if you want. That place is too busy on the weekends.

I have a Geiselle SSA-E (2-stage 3.5 lb total pull) in one AR and a Timney 4 lb single-stage in another. I prefer the Geiselle and would recommend it unless you just don't like 2-stage triggers. Geiselle also has the fastest lock time, which helps with accuracy. I bought my SSA-E on sale at Palmetto State for $180 last year. I think they are $210 there now. Geiselle has different models to suit your needs with different pull weights.

I have a single-stage flat trigger, and this is the first I've heard of anything.

Really appreciate that offer GravyTrain. I've got my own custom AR coming in with a milspec stock AR trigger and I will be dropping a much better one into it. Trying to find a trigger with a light touch, mil spec strength and an ultra ultra fast reset that is good for CQB (3 gun) and can be used out to 1300 yards.

Not too much out there in .223 that can do that. Maybe the 80gr AMAX? Even the Grendel would have problems reliably reaching out that far in anything less than a 24" barrel.

I have the SSA-E on a hunting setup and prefer the 2 stage for that. I put a S3G on a gun for just shooting fun and it is light and has that super quick reset but have had it shoot 2 round bursts occasionally because of the reset.
