you keep talkin' about using all your airmiles to make hunting cheaper for the regular guy? How may blue color guys who are having a hard time paying for their Texas deer lease travel enough on airlines to accrue the frequent flyer miles needed to fly to Africa or Canada???

Well you can pay for all your gas, beer, etc on a credit card that will GIVE you airmiles for each purchase. Try Capital One. There are many others.

I have this mental picture of Bubba and Billy Bob, sittin' on the porch of their shack in East Texas.

Bubba complains that the dang landowner is raisin' the deer lease from $400 to $500 this year and he just don't know where he's gonna get the dough.

Billy Bob says, "Well, hell, Bubba, just use those frequent flier miles that you got flying from Woodville to Carthage last fall to visit Gramma 'fore she died. Add them to the rebate you got on your Capital One card, and find a discount hunt in Africa on your laptop. Bet you could do it for only about $10 grand in cash with all your discounts!"

Bubba responds: "what's a laptop?"

Illustrating your absurdity with more absurdity appears to have been lost on you. Why am I not surprised... Bottom line is, you are bashing away at Texas hunting, while foolishly attempting to compare it to African hunting. Look in the dictionary under moronic, you may actually see a mirror

No you gave a ridiculous analogy. I've only mentioned African hunting in general. What I have done is shown alternatives. You just don't like those alternatives nor do you like the idea of free speech it seems.

Have to drink til you alot if your gonna pay for trip to Africa.

--------------------
Doesn't have to be to Africa. It can be to Canada, or Argentina or Idaho for that matter.

For the record, free speech is great. If you want to now act like you're not pimping African hunting, while running down Texas hunting, you are certainly free to do so. It doesn't make it true.

Just for grins, how much was the trip to Namibia and the one coming up to Argentina?

With the price of gas? Like I said it's an alternative and quite possible a cheaper alternative but it's not for everybody. Somebody without a passport at this stage in their life is probably going to be intimidated once they get past the interstate.

Package price all inclusive including airfare was a little over 6000 grand. I modified it a bit to add more. Argentina is 3500 all inclusive including 2500 shells.

I think some should have to drill a dry hole before they start complaining.

That is why leases cost so much, it takes alot of diesel for the landowner to drive from his house on the ranch to the bank in town to deposit the oil royalty and lease payment checks.

OK. The cost of these 2 hunts is more than many/most? (Not all) Texas year 'round leases. Weekend trips to the lease to piddle around with feeders, stands, hunt 'yotes, hogs, cats, etc., is part of it. Yes it costs money to do it, BUT, it can be done on a spur of the moment and you don't have to depend on an outfitter, TSA, airlines, political stability in foreign countries, etc. Apples and Oranges.

Hunting out of the country is fine, but don't attempt to compare it to a year 'round lease within our own state. I'll call BS on it till the cows come home.

He/she already stated in a previos post that a good lease starts at $5,000 then you add in gas, beer etc.

You have to take in account the animal broker and some expensive taxidermy work on top of the discounted hunt.
