Since my rifle came w/ a scope, I was "scoping" out some deals on-line in hopes to build a nice hunting rifle (the gun will be next) and came across a Burris scope and Bino combo. If anyone is familiar with these models, please let me know. Even if you'r not familiar with them let me know what you've heard. Both are NIB. Is this a good deal?

Burris scope: Fullfield II 3-9x40mm

I am not a burris fan I would save up an pick up same 3x9x40 zeiss conquest for 350-380, and I am sure the binocs would be cheap coming in a combo pack. Just my .02 cents

I am a bit skepticle about "combo's" too but I found them on an "overstock" site and thought it was a good deal. The scopes themselves retail, alone, for at least the price of the combo.

Maybe, I am just not a Burris fan. I learned it is just cheaper to wait and save and buy the best I can afford, cheaper than buying and upgrading.

I have 2 of the Fullfields II, and have been very pleased with them. No problems at all, and I also bought them as a package deal. One is on a 270 the other on a 243

I just bought this combo deal about 2 weeks ago. After a trip to the lease to sight in the new scope, I love it. I haven't tested it in true hunting conditions (dusk and dawn), I don't expect to be let down. The binos seem good too. I'm pretty conservative with my spending and like good value, and I think this combo is just that. It's medium quality optics for a great price. For my hunting conditions, I see no reason to spend $400+ on a scope. My shots aren't even likely going to be over 150 yards. If I was hunting caribou at 400 yards, that would be a different story.

I had a burris fulfield II and will never have one again. In my opinion there are way better scopes for the money. jmho

I bought that same Burris package last year for my 22-250. I have used it a good bit and its an excellent scope for the money, the coyotes don't seem to like it much at all though.

I have two Burris scopes. A 3x9x40 and a 4.5x14x42. I have been extremely happy with both of them.
My buddy got a new Leupold VXIII 3.5x10x40. Out of curiosity, I wanted to see what he got for the extra $200, so we set up the Burris 3x9 and the Leupold 3.5x10 side-by-side in vices focused on a target at 100yrds, both on 9 power to make it even. The only thing he got with the Leupold was a financial raping. There was NO noticeable difference in clarity between the two at that range. He admitted he should have saved the money and went with the Burris.

I don't understand why some people don't like them. They are good quality scopes. As always, I guess there could be a few bad apples in every basket.

The Burris scope/bino combo has been on-going for two years now. They compliment each other, but the bino's were added in with the scope towards the end of '06. They started packaging them together in the same package last year.

The Burris Fullfield II is an excellent scope in its price range, and has their FOREVER warranty.

I have a fullfield II and I havent had any problems with it. It does well early in the morning and late in the afternoon and I have been very pleased with the performance of my scope.

I got the Fullfield II 4.5-14x42 combo with spotting scope. I don't remember the price, but I basically got the spotting scope free. I have not had any problem with either one. I am easily shooting 1in groups at 200yds with this scope (probably better if I took my time). It is very clear and no fogging. I love mine!

I have 3 burris scopes. 2 Fullfield II and one Signature series. All have performed flawlessly. The fullfield II is clearer than any VXII. The Signature Series is also better than the VX III. They both have the forever warranty. They are an excellent deal. I would also be curious to know what the issues some people have with them.

I figured you would chime in Danny, I was gonna tell on you if you didn't. Danny (and the misses) is deadly with his burris scope setups. And neither one is shootin some old .22.

I have the Fullfield II for my T/C Encore Pistol and love it. It's a great scope and will really take the "abuse" given to handgun scopes. It didn't come with a combo and was more expensive than the combo scopes, but still an excellent quality scope. My dad has a couple of the Fullfield II combos and they are also great.

Using a Burris Signature Select and it is the best scope I have used. However, truth be told, you probably are not going to get a bad scope once you hit the $200 mark and above. Best thing to do is go somewhere and look through them and you be the judge as to what your eyes see best through.
