Can anyone help me with the value of a Winchester model 94 30-30. He said he thought he bought it around 1985 new in the box never been fired. If this is true what would the value be?

$300-$400 would be my guess.

The older (pre-64)and some commemorative models bring more so watch the serial #'s and age when comparing them.

If "why so little" you mean why not a higher value than $300-$400, because it really isn't anything special. The pre 64 guns were forged steel, walnut stocks, and real deep bluing. The post '64 guns are of lower quality, as the manufacturing costs had to be reduced to keep the firearm affordable to the average hunter. It isn't a bad gun, just isn't worth a whole lot. A lot of them out there.
