Interesting. I read the green score on this buck was around 247". Still a monster buck no matter what the score was.

The 247 inch green score was actually a different buck killed here in Iowa. This one was chased thru most of bow season and then he finally got him with a muzzleloader.

Then he has to have over a 200" typical frame with 80" of NT to score that. I can't see 80" of NT from those pics. The pics in the other link show the buck much better though.

Great buck!!!
It does look like the same buck as well as the same hunter.
But it could be just a coincidence.

lol, sorry buddy, hard to tell in black and white.

i watched some guys on the TBH a while back claiming that they were looking at pics of two different bucks when i knew for a fact it was the same one (and obvious), in my best friends yard and soon to be on his wall, but you couldnt tell them that.

Seen several in the 225-250 lb range, but that was when I was in South Dakota. Pretty much every quality buck was expected to go over 200 lb up there. My roommate's girlfriend shot a little 4-point on her first deer hunt, and it went 145 lb. Sad thing is that is still bigger than anything I've shot here in Texas.

And yes, I believe weight is a much better way of determining the "best" buck than antler size.

Deer quality is not measured by antler size

Back in '83, I believe, a friend and I went to Davy Crockett forest for opening of gun season. Deer were running everywhere at first light, guns were blazing. We saw doe but only one buck. We decided to go into Crockett for lunch and on the side of the road was an old house with a flatbed truck with a GIANT deer head that was killed in the Neches bottoms. 14 point with double drops, massive east Texas mossback. The guy just cut his head off, no shoulder mount. Biggest one I've ever seen dead. Our high fence neighbors have some deer over 350", they are alive though. Hopefully some jump the fence.

Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it.
Don't text and drive.
