Conratulations on winning the dumbest post of the week.
I have a problem with it as do many others and that makes us Americans excercising our right to shop where we damn well please for whatever reason we see fit.
I didn't say you couldn't shop where you want. I said if you have a problem with what CTD is doing your in the wrong country. Shop where you want to shop, pay what you want to pay, but stop whing about CTD because they are obviously charging what the market will bear or they would not be staying in business. You don't like their prices, fine. You don't want to shop their, fine. You want to whine about what they are doing, take your socialist ideas about free markets elsewhere. So when did understanding capitalism become dumbest post of the week material? I think maybe some of you may be a little confused Having a problem with pricing and choosing to shop somewhere else does not equate to being a socialist. Is that simple enough to follow or are you still confused as to why his post is out of this universe stupid.

I guess I'm stupid because I will continue to do business with them. Oh well I have been called worse. Coming from someone that lives in Houston doesn't really hold much weight anyway

I agree but with places like Midway and Brownells that have never ever been anything but exceptional for me then it sure makes it easy to wash my hands of ***** like CTD.

Coming from someone that lives in Houston doesn't really hold much weight anyway Yeah because the city in which I live somehow defines who I am. More idiocy, do they sell intelligence at CTD? It should be normal price since their customers don't seem to be wanting any of it.

I guess I'm stupid because I will continue to do business with them. Oh well I have been called worse. Coming from someone that lives in Houston doesn't really hold much weight anyway Now that's an intelligent response. What does Houston have to do with this ridiculous debate anyway? Ive been to Brownwood, and I'm sure its a great place to live for some, maybe not for others. Its not for me, but you dont see me insulting someone just because they are from there. I continue to be amazed at some of the garbage I read between grown men on this and other forums. What ever happened to a good natured debate without insulting 4 million other people that live in Houston because someone doesn't agree with your opinion or actions? You do realize that many who live in Houston are from many other towns and cities, right? Some are even from small Central Texas towns, much like Brownwood, and now they are somehow lesser humans for making a living in Houston? Right....provided that the person making that judgement is small minded and myopic. Its a free world, buy from whom you like, and don't buy from those you don't like. No one is making anyone buy from "gougers" and if someone chooses to spend their money there, it's their choice. It's supply and demand, coupled with capitalism in an ugly situation driven by pure idiocy from those the public elects. Simple as that....

Don't know what the debate is about. Buy from CTD enough times and you will be complaining wether you agree with prices or not . Their customer service sucks, their attitudes in the store suck, their delivery sucks and capitalism or not their prices suck. You don't throw honesty out the door for capitalism !!
Keep em huntin and they wont have time to get in trouble!! And remember RESPECT goes a long way!!

I would like to see a bill board or hear a radio commercial from CTD stating where they stand on the supporting the Second Amendment instead of what this so called private e-mail said .An email costs a fraction of nothing and a limited amount of people get to see it. Maybe I have missed such advertising from them as I drive around the Metro mess daily while listening to the radio but I doubt it unless its on an extremely small scale.

Thats the popular thing to do right now but I dont trust them one bit. Once the dust settles they are going to have lost so many of thier past customers that they are going to have to sell to those agencies to make up for thier lost sales. CTD has already proven they care more about the dollar than anything else. This policy will probably change quicker than the price of thier P-Mags. Is their greediness for the dollar what made you ask 2X what its worth for the ammo you are selling? Pot calling the kettle black????

Secondly, I will never pretend that paying 3,4,5 times the price of something is in any way intelligent when the same item can be bought for regular price. Stupid is as stupid does. Nor will I turn a blind eye to a company such as CTD and the people who continue to shovel their money at them just so I can appear "classy". Sorry if telling you the truth appears "juvenile", life is tough sometimes.

If they treat me the way they did JCB then hell yea I would find a new place to shop but until then I don't have a reason not to shop there. Paying 3,4 or 5 times what others are selling for is assanine. If that's the case then they won't be around long anyway. But last time I checked prices were stupid wherever you looked not just CTD. Most of the people that are crying are the ones that didn't believe this bs would happen. You had plenty of time to be prepared for this little crisis.

You don't like their prices, fine. You don't want to shop their, fine. You want to whine about what they are doing, take your socialist ideas about free markets elsewhere. Actually, I think his post is an excellent example of the American system at work, at it's best. Free speech meets free enterprise. If, by free speech, people share their negative experiences with a company they feel is taking advantage of them, and as such, those people band together in agreement to choose not to do business with that company, then the result of their combined effort will DEFINE what the market will bear. This is how free enterprise works. That's why companies advertise. That's why companies talk about their reputation, repeat and referral business. Because the "market" is people and what it will bear is what those people collectively decide is their threshold. And this forum, this post in particular, is the vehicle through which this is happening. So, I don't think it's socialist at all, rather just one important phase in a cyclical system.

I just want to point out that it may be unwise to trash a company whose advertising dollars are spent on this site. That could lead to some unpleasant consequences.
They are allowed to sell their items for whatever price they deem the market will support. You are free to choose where you shop. No need to drop into name calling and such, that is childish, and I think more of most of the people on this forum than what I am seeing out of this one thread. Can we please tone it down a bit?
If dueling were still legal I think there would be less idiots in charge of things...

You could look at it THIS way... CTD advertises here because they realize this is their market and by appealing to the members of THF, they stand to make money. This thread should be an eye-opener to them concerning their current "public appeal" - and react (or not) accordingly.

I'm going to put on a pretty dress and lipstick to wait for my email. I like to be presentable before I get screwed. 31.97 for PMC Bronze 40S&W. This isn't gouging, it's called profiteering. Support the 2nd and price themselves to the point of excluding most people's ability to afford? Whiz on my leg and tell me it's raining. A marketing pat on the head, that I am not buying. OR... You could look at it THIS way... CTD advertises here because they realize this is their market and by appealing to the members of THF, they stand to make money. ^^^^ This. I've never seen them advertise on THF. I don't see them listed in any of the headers on the left side of the page. The 'Advertisement' header has nothing under it. In fact, I never see any ads at all on this site. But, for those that see the ads(?), like running an ad in a newspaper, you're going to get editorials if the sucking sound gets loud enough. $0.64/round for 'cheap' Korean range ammo is a pretty loud suck. They might want to change their company name. Maybe " Not Cheaper Than Dirt" or "Cheaper Than Dirt ( from Mars)" Blah, blah freemarket, yeah I know. I buy somewhere else. Doesn't prevent me from having an opinion of a business that has such a misleading moniker. Cheaper... ha! Academy has got my business... as long as they put customers at the top of their list.
