The past 10 days my dog has gotten to be a real pain in the arse!!! She has stopped following simple instructions. Then I had an epiphany!!! I put together all of her mannerisms,body language,and behavior, and only one conclusion can be determined. She is depressed we no longer are going hunting. She has been waking me up on the weekend at 0400 just as if we were to hunt, but no hunts have happened since Jan. Those big sad lab eyes are now just killing me. Going to have to start off-season sooner than I thought!!!!

Since the close of the season when I have the back door open my dog sits and stares, and whines at the E-collar that is sitting nearby in its charging cradle.

That is when I know that she is bored with her toys, tired of chasing the squirrel that runs the top of the fence, and I give her a brand new fuzzy tennis ball for her to slobber on.

I think I heard you shooting a few weeks ago, up by the creek.

Time to go to the training ground and work on steady till sent, blinds and doubles. Hope that lifts her spirits.
