For the record, my first hog kill in Texas was with a 22lr. Damn hogs tearing up the ex in-laws' place! They were so aware and quick, I had to lean out the kitchen window to get the drop on them!

I dropped a 125lb boar between the eyes with a 22 short subsonic round but then again it was from 3 feet in trap. I've seen the GAMO pellet gun do the same from at least 20yds to an 80lb sow so I'm sure a 22 with good aim will drop a pig up to 50yds.

A 22 short CB cap with no powder will kill just about anything that walks in TX. Surely you are joking and no sportsman in his right mind would take a shot on any game animal with any size to it with this round.

I have shot thousands of rounds at prarie dogs in Wyoming. Especially loved the huge town in Shirley Rim out of Casper. It was about 30 miles long in all and over 10 miles wide. We would shoot thousands of rounds out there. Would then spend a day or two to get everyone's antelope.
