If I use a mixture of diesel and corn can I eat the meat or will it be tainted?

Its a proven fact..................diesel will improve the taste of wild hog meat. roflmao

Seriously...I dont see where it would hurt the meat none

Don't know, but we've been using our used fish fry oil lately and dang they love it. Doesn't make them taste fishy. lol

I have not caught a hog in about 2 months. I went to Tractor Supply on Friday and picked up a bag sweet feed in pellet form not the textured feed for under $10 per bag. Baited 2 traps with it Saturday evening and caught two pigs. Had those traps baited with corn for the last 2 months with no success.

Most animals, even cattle, like a change in their diet, sort of a dessert after the main course. Often when they smell some new treat they will not eat it but when trapping you are just trying to catch them, not set up a buffet.

We started using an old bathtub full of sour corn. We finally had to stake it to the ground because they have started moving it around. We found it 20 ft from where we filled it upside down.

We emptied our cabinets of old out of date snacks, cereal, candy, popcorn, chips, taco shells, etc. Anything we could find. Dumped it in a hog hole and they loved it. They don't care if it says best by July 10 of 2010. They eat it anyway. Ha ha!

Diesel works great!! I use whole corn and a little bit of sweet feed and use a $10 pesticide hand spray pump you can get at lowes or basically any home/ranch store and fill it with diesel and spray just a thin coat on the corn/feed just to keep coons and deer out of the traps. I also spray EVERYTHING I touched on the trap and EVERYWHERE I walked. And hogs love diesel to keep bugs off so I spray the door frame and there's always mud there now. I've noticed that the sweeter the attractant: jello, sweet feed, etc. that I catch more sows than boars.

Also I sometimes hit up the local stores to get expired/old produce and put it in my trap as well..only thing I haven't seen them eat are potatoes, pumpkins, and lettuce but to each pig their own lol.

soured corn is still worthy but generic peanut butter on a rubbing post will have them running to ya!
