Looking at purchasing one. Not much experience with 10 mm. Hoping some of you guys could chime in with pros and cons of this pistol and round thanks

Why the 29 over the 20, planning on carrying it?

If it will be a CCW, why are you choosing the 10mm over a 9mm, 40, 45 acp? Just curious?

Can't think of one con for either the Glock or the round. Given the current ammo situation, a 10mm makes sense.

I've found plenty available.

Gotcha, in that case, the G29 is good to go. Small, reliable, glock, etc. However, if it's sole purpose is for self defense only, I don't really see the point. A 40 will accomplish the same thing with less recoil, and quicker follow up shots. Plus 40 ammo is cheaper.

If you are dead set on the 10mm then yes the G29 is good to go, if not dead set on 10mm I recommend the G30SF for carry duty. I carry a G36 and wish I had gone G30SF instead.

I carry a G29SF about 95% of the time as my CCW. I also have a G20SF I use and carry when out on the deer lease and for general use. I love the 10mm round. It packs a good punch and has more energy than any other "normal" handgun caliber, including a 45 ACP. It also is a fast round, and speed is a good thing.

The con of the G29 or any double stack pistol is weight. It is heavier when fully loaded. I'm a big guy, so the added weight isn't bad at all. Get a good holster that spreads the weight front and back of the pistol, and it will carry much better.

I loved my 29. However, it sure hurt to shoot some hot loads in it.

The 10mm is my favorite pistol round for a semi-auto. I started reloading for it after I got one in an AR15 platform. I plan on taking it out deer hunting next season.

Hopefully by then I'll pick up a Glock 20SF/29SF & use it as my ccw. The 9mm I had to use in defense before was just adequate & I plan to carry something that packs a bigger punch if/when I'll need it in the future.

The con about the 10mm is that most of the factory loads has a power rating like the 40s&w but cost's more. You really need to pay for the loads that makes the 10mm into what it really is or you could always load your own. One main reason no one gets into this round is because the cost to shot it compared to others like the 9mm/40/or 45 is too high to justify.

The G29 is definitely a smooth shooter, even in 10mil. I say go for it, I owned 2 of them

I like my 29, may like the 30 a little better under normal
ammo availability.

I'm a little late getting to this discussion, but I'll throw in my dos centavos. Get it and don't look back! I've had one for several years. One of the first things I picked up was a Lone Wolf .40 cal conversion barrel for cheaper shooting. They have other conversion barrels available in 357 Sig & 9X25 Dillon. I picked up two G20 magazines with grip extensions. They are a perfect fit and give you 15 rounds. Then I picked up an Advantage Arms .22 conversion kit...for even cheaper shooting. Next on my list is a Lone Wolf 4.6" 10mm barrel (same length as a G20)for hunting purposes, of course. Underwood Ammo carries many flavors of 10mm ranging from 135gr rockets running 1600fps to 220gr hardcast running 1200 fps. Best part about Underwood is they are full power loads ranging from $27 to $38 per box of 50. I am pretty sure all of the above is available for the G20. My thoughts are it's easy to make the 29 bigger, but more difficult to make the 20 smaller.
