We are truly blessed! Stills like these will forever remind us the year we reached several personal goals and had the best times of our lives. This coyote had a little problem. It was one of the weirdest and most unusual things we have ever filmed as he came to the call balancing (only) on his two front feet without anything else on his body touching the ground. They are true survivors as he had learned to hunt and get around without the use of his back legs. It was just myself and Gary Bennet on this stand and the best way Gary could describe the way he walked was "It looked like a wheelbarrow going backwards". Well we would like to act like we were just trying to save a few for seed on this north Texas cat, but thats not exactly how things went down! Sometimes cats have a tendency to stare, and stare, and stare, and stare some more for over three minutes at 15 yards with no wind while your gun is pointing in completely the wrong direction and you are sitting on the loudest pile of dead leaves in the entire county only to turn and haul *** back into the brush showing you only his ***, NEVER HEARING A GUN SHOT. He's on our list for sure! This big pretty cat decided he wanted to be on TV but for some reason didn't realize the seeing conditions on the set were going to be like they were once he got there. Just another coyote to add to the count. A few weeks back we made a post looking for a certain number of coyotes for this season and this unlucky fellow was a Bingo for the Carnivore Night Crew. New years day we were one short of the mark looking for one more and I told Jared and Gary that I did not want just some coyote standing at 80 or 100 yards to make that kill for the year as I wanted it to be in your face and rite on top of us. They were readily willing and accepted the fact that nothing less would do for reaching our goal. Little did we know, the very next coyote to respond to our call would end up 11 steps from the tailgate of the truck. We are going to be doing a show on season three of Carnivore with one heck one a story about this season's journey leading up to this one kill and I promise you the footage you will see on this show will be the most unbelievable, in your face night hunting action that you have ever seen. We will let you be the judge! Thanks to all the fans and look for CARNIVORE season 3 this summer on Pursuit. Take care from Night Crew

When I was racoon hunting with my hounds as a kid they once caught a coon on the ground. When I got to the baying dogs here was a coon with no back legs, chopped off at the elbow. The poor little fellow had lived by walking, and doing a fine job of it, balancing on the 2 front feet. I caught him and took it home and kept him in a cage for quite some time. Don't know what had happened to it, either caught in a trap & chewed out or cut off by a farmers' haybine?

The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

Good series of pics. The one looks like his butt might be itching a bit.
