Dunno, I saw a Highpoint sell for $800 and it was the old style stock and only one mag, buyer was delighted to have a carbine to go with his two Sigs. Bud's has been sold out for some time. Only people I have heard talk trash about these guns are people who have never owned one or those who only shoot LaRue products and use Wilson mags.

Larue and Wilson aside, paying $1000 for a HiPoint carbine with an MSRP of $320 and a legitimate street price closer to $250 would be about the same pro-rata inflation as a $3500 DPMS AP4. I'm sure there are people who are happy to have either for whatever price they have to pay, but I don't think it's talking trash to laugh at paying LaRue prices for a HiPoint...
