Weatherby Vangaurd S1/S2 VS Tikka T3 Lite/Hunter
Let's hear y'all's thoughts. Which so you own? Which do you prefer? Which do you like better? Action? Accuracy? Reliability?
Just trying to compare the T3s to my Vanguards. Thanks

Why do u ask these questions?
Go buy a rifle already!
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

My vanguard S1 was a 1.5" gun with a cheap injection molded stock and a B- trigger. The S2 has a much nicer but two stage trigger. The fit and finish on the S2 is what you would expect from a $450 gun. The S2 shoots 1" groups with about any ammo. The Tikka T3 is a much nicer rifle and probably worth the 20% premium. The trigger on the T3 is about as good as factory triggers get. Scratch the S1 from your short list, S2 for $50 more is a no brainer.

Go buy a rifle already! We will all be happy the day he gets it... Extremely!!!! But I can appreciate his research and anticipation, no one wants to second guess themselves he needs to go handle one and find out for himself which one he likes better. even the cheapest bolt guns today shoot better than the best rifles we had when I was his age so all it comes down to is fit. When i was his age, picking out my rifle was alot easier. we went to carters country, and i got a choice, remington or ruger, in a .270. I chose a remington and the answer I got was "well, uncle pat shoots a ruger, so your gonna go with that" Haven't regreted that decision though(even though it wasn't my own) still have that reciept from that gun, in November of 97', rifle cost $479.00 and my redfield 3x9 tracker us back another $185.00. I bought a box of fail safe ammo and that was $24, which was very steep at the time

Just trying to compare the T3s to my Vanguards. Thanks I vote for a Winchester model 70. So do you actually have some money to purchase this rifle or are you just "wishful thinking"?

No one wants to second guess themselves. With all the options out there I find myself doing extensive web searching to help me make a practical decision. It was so easy 30 years ago when there were not so many choices.
Of course I consult with the experts on this forum also. I've learned much from some of you that are patient with those of us that do not have your experience. I appreciate all.
Then of course there are some that are not so patient
Shoot! It just took me a month to decide what tablet I would purchase.

Tikka in a Varmint barrel or stainless.
Forum says "Veteran Tracker". I could not track a garbage truck into a fireworks factory.
