Texas Independent Bird Hunters are holding a snake proofing clinic and fun field trial October the 16th at the TIBHA training lease in Anna (1.2 miles west on FM455 from U.S. Highway 75) at 7:30am.

Every body is welcome.

This year looks to a very good year for quail.

Hey just wanted to introduce myself. I believe my uncle Virgil Miller owns the land that you guys train on.

Sounds like a good idea. The lab we used to hunt with got bit on the foot quail hunting with us two years ago near Turkey while quail hunting. She was done for the trip. We never saw the snake but she had two big puncture holes on the top of her paw. It had even been 18 degrees at night the week before. We called my wifes dad who is a vet in Amarillo but everything was too far and closed. She survived just fine.

My friend did loose her this year. She had a big tumor on her liver and she didn't return home to the lake house on Texoma over Labor day. It was sad. She went in peace hopefully at 9 years old.

Just a note to Txduckman and us folks that love our labs. Labs are very hard to snake proof. The reason for this is thier loyalty. They will do what ever it takes to get back to their owner.
