I wish i hadn't lost the picture of this snake next to the tape measure. I'm not kidding, 7 feet 9 inches. I have hunted in South Tx my whole life, and I have seen / killed a few rattlesnakes 6' long, but this was a giant.

I know it sounds nuts, but fortunately I have no motivation to post fictitious stories about snakes. The gate guard at our ranch killed it. 14 rattles.

How long is his left G2?

Hint: figure out the width, and then compare the tine to its width...longest tine I've ever seen

I suspect it's a good thing you lost the pic of him next to a tape measure, that rattler would have to really strech to make 3 ft.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

I'd say that tine is 16-17 inches.

That couldn't be new growth. He just hasn't dropped his horns yet unless the photo was taken back during season.

16-18"? That buck looks strange in his mid-section.

Looks like his back is messed up.

If you use the same measuring tape that you used on the snake, that G2 will be 46 inches long. LOL

That G2 is awesome, nearly as long as that snake! Great pics!
