I went to shoot the 30-30 with open sights and am finding that it is shooting to the left. Elevation is okay but how do I adjust for the left shots?

How? The rear sight is a little metal piece that is moved up and down by placing a notched metal piece below it. (Please excuse the use of those technical terms)

tap the base of the rear sight (where it fits into the dovetail) with a brass punch or hammer.

This is best done at the range so that you can immediately test your work.

Isn't the front sight in a dovetail slot?

Front sight can be adjusted if it is dovetailed.

Front ~ Left/Right

Rear ~ Up/Down

Quote:

After looking at a schematic, it depends which rear sight you have on your gun
