This is kind of cool. It doesn't require altering the rifle. Video

I haven't been able to find them yet. I wish they had put a rail on the left side for scope mounting purposes. I'm not a fan of the scout mount.

It's $199 for the stock and one five round mag. The ten round mags go for $24.95...I think.

Its a Mosin Nagant. Why in the world would you sink any more money into it?
This is mall ninja junk and is a complete waste of time/money. Let me guess, gonna use it for the zombies?
It would be like mounting an AR upper to a wooden stock. Retarded. Pointless. Junk.
P.S. that stock will cost more than the turd sitting in it. I believe MSRP is $200 lol

Opinions... Everyone has one.. Kind of like oh never mind..
Troll on..
ETA: it would probably lighten up the gun to around 5 pounds if you take that heavy wooden stock off too. Just an observation, but whatever.

So lighten up a gun that is notorious for being a mule? Sounds like a great idea.
I guess if you want to blow more money on a mosin than what its worth, go for it. Or you could just start with a decent gun to begin with.....

So you don't like it, I think we understand that. My question is why do you keep returning to the thread? You're opinion doesn't count more than anyone else's. Some of us do like the milsurp rifles. It isn't a matter of buying a better rifle (that was a snob comment on your part). It is taking an old rifle and seeing what can be done with it. It's fun. I even looked up the definition for you. fun /fən/ Noun Enjoyment, amusement, or lighthearted pleasure: "anyone who turns up can join in the fun". Adjective Amusing, entertaining, or enjoyable: "it was a fun evening". Verb Joke or tease: "no need to get sore—I was only funning"; "they are just funning you". Synonyms noun. amusement - joke - sport - jest - lark - entertainment verb. joke - jest - banter - jape - lark Gee whiz, lighten up, Francis.

Ever heard the term "kicks like a mule"? Apparently not lol.
Furthermore most Mil Surp enthusiasts like their mil surps to be.........military surplus.
Not tacticooled out with tapco/archangel garbage.
Yes take an old rifle and see what can be done with it (as if the Russians didnt show the 3rd Reich what the Mosin could do), not bastardized said old rifle.

200?!?!?!? You could pick up two more Mosins for that price! My point exactly. OR you could pickup about 1000rds of 7.62x54r surplus for 200.00. Nope, put a cheaply made turd of a stock on it......way better choice. http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?i...&groupid=40

^ That's exactly why I love my Mosin. I can shoot it all day, drop it in mud, and drag it behind the truck and not feel guilty about it!

Ironwood Designs Second; M-Ns are "turds"? They chamber a potent round, can be had reasonably-priced (ammo, too) and are capable of decent to exceptional accuracy (assuming not mistreated/worn). Third, there are LOTS of people sticking Remington 700 barreled actions in chassis/stocks that might cost double the original rifle. C'mon; lighten up. Some folks want the look but can't swing the $ for a more prestigious setup. Edit: No, I don't have a M-N.

Yes take an old rifle and see what can be done with it (as if the Russians didnt show the 3rd Reich what the Mosin could do), not bastardized said old rifle. Oh, you were making a reference about recoil lol. I'm not sure where the myth started about the vicious recoil of a Mosin Nagant. They don't kick any harder than most 308s. Those sensitive to recoil should probably stick with their AR's. Dang guys, if a little video can stir up this much emotion, let's talk religion! (Just kidding mods-see the above definition of "fun"). I'm an avid collector of military surplus rifles. My idea of modifying a historical arm is rubbing boiled linseed oil into the stock. However, the item in question doesn't require chopping so no historical value is lost by simply changing stocks. As far a tacticool goes, I carry real black plastic tactical weapons every day for a living. The coolness of those guns wore off about 20 years ago for me. Personally, I no longer have a desire to own any "tactical" weapons. However, I don't find it necessary to sneer at what others do with their money or property.

I've been a C&R collector for years. I see absolutely nothing wrong with modding a C&R rifle that has been made in the SEVERAL millions. There was an entire cottage industry here in the U.S. earlier in the 20th century sporterizing 1903 & 1903A3 Springfields, Pattern 17 Eddystones, Enfield .303's, bring back k98 Mausers, etc. Would I do it with those rifles? NO WAY! Would I do it with a Mosin? Absolutely! For what you pay for the rifles and ammo, they are decent performers. They work GREAT on hogs. SKS? Same answer. Some may not like it, and they don't have to. Haters gonna hate. Someone else's rifle? Not unless they asked me to. My rifle? Yup. 'Scuse me, gonna go look at the Mosins for a donor on my next "turd" project.

Well as long as i am not spending your money, dont worry about it. No reason to get worked up over how i spend my money. Is it cost effective? Heck no! Is is it cool to me? Heck yes! I gave about 40 bucks for my first nagant. If i fix it up with that stock, and a scope i will have 300 or so in a bolt action, removeable box mag gun that shoots pretty darn good. Seems like fun and something a little different to me. My opinion, my time, my money.
