went to our little spot in cross plains over the weekend with a buddy. have not had a chance at a piggy in a few months. decided to let friend have the treestand over the feeder and i was just going to wander around and try calling in some coyotes. was not having any luck so i would switch spots every 30 min or so. figured i was not going to see anything so i decided to take a nap. laid down in some brush and enjoyed to great outdoors. i woke up just as it was getting dark (about an hour and a half nap) sat up and looked around with binocs. was getting too dark to see and moon was not out so i just sat there waiting for the moon and have a cigarette. next thing i know something was moving in the dark about 40 feet in front of me. scramble for binocs but i could not see. grabbed my rifle and now i can hear the heavy breathing and growling and this sucker is headed right at me and in a hurry. dropped the rifle and squeezed one off in a split second. no cross hairs, no time for aiming, just drop and shoot. saw the lump flopping around, put my light on the gun and lit it up. sucker was on the ground 20 feet from me. finished my cig then went to take a look.

right between the eyes.

pure luck! but bad arse none the less. i am just glad i woke up before this dude strolled in.

Daaaaaaaaamn! That was one helluva lucky shot. Your very fortunate that your reflexes served you right. Great job!

While a hole in one in golf can be considered a lucky shot, it is usually only highly skilled golfers that get one. Seems to me Coonsaw must have a good amount of time with his rifle and shooting; otherwise he could not have made that "lucky shot." Good job!

Excellent job! Thanks for sharing with us.

Stay... um... awake!

Get a very bright light on that gun too! Look up Hogzilla or something similar.

i have a fenix tk21 light that i use. it puts out almost 500 lumens. i can light them up hundred yards plus as long as it is not too foggy. i just did not mount it yet.
