I may get one its the all camo one. What is it worth used? How does it shoot? Will it be worth trading my savage FCP-SR .308 24 inch fluted threaded barrel with ten round mag? Also how is the trigger and groping like?

I've never handled one in the Axiom stock, but my Howa shot well out of the box. The sporter contour I have will print 1.75" 3 shot groups at 200 yards with 100 grain CoreLokt, but I've never kept the groups that tight through 5 shots. Handloaders can get marvelous accuracy out of a stock Howa (but the same can be said of just about any modern production rifle). The factory trigger will be about 4.5 lbs. I've never been tempted to tinker with it or replace it; no creep at all. It's the kind of trigger that feels like breaking the neck of a glass ampule. If you want your rifle to go off when you breathe on it, you probably won't like it but there isn't anything wrong with the factory trigger. If you're not scared that you're going to eff it up, the trigger does have user serviceable creep and sensitivity adjustment.
Is there something that you don't like about your Savage? It seems like a lateral move to me. Trading a rifle that you like for another rifle in its peer group probably has more downside than upside.
I've never been groped by my Howa, so I don't really know.

So you have a couple of different things here.
If it's a Howa 1500, it's pretty much the same thing as a Weatherby Vanguard S1. The Weatherby Vanguards are made in Japan by Howa. So you should be looking at a good rifle.
On the Axiom front, I have one that I put on the Weatherby 243 my kids use. Before I put it in the 243, I tried it out on my Weatherby 308 and while it reduced the recoil, it wasn’t enough of a reduction to get my kids comfortable shooting it.
On the plus side, * It does reduce the recoil a little; even with the 243. I would say my 243 is comparable to a 223 now. On my 308, it reduced the recoil more, but it isn’t going to turn your 308 into a 223 or a 243. * The large flat base of the stock is nice to keep it flat and even on the window of my blind * The adjustable stock is great when you are sharing a rifle amongst various size people * The pistol grip makes it easy to shoot
On the negative side * It makes the rifle a little heavier * The recoil pad it comes with stinks compared to the Weatherby S2 recoil pad. They do have a Limb Saver you can install on for like $30 and that one is really nice. * The stock isn’t as rigid as a normal wood or composite stock. So if you are manhandling the thing, you can twist or bend it pretty easily when you are shooting (it doesn’t permanently stay bent).
Would I buy another Axiom, I really don’t know. The main reason I bought one was so I could have an adjustable stock for my kids. If I buy them another rifle in the next few years, I’ll probably pick up another Axiom because they still won’t be big enough for an adult size stock. Once they are bigger, I probably wouldn’t spend the $200 to buy another one plus the better recoil pad.
Thanks, Rich

I will save you some serious $$ I had a weatherby vanguard S1 bought for $400 new academy bought a used but like new axiom stock for $100 off gunbroker Axiom stocks are going for $150-$200 new amazon get a remington 700 and an axiom stock and you will come out ahead and you can get a better scope with the savings. If you like the Howa/Vanguard they are still around $350-$400. If you build your own you can choose something besides .308 the howa 1500/Vanguard is an OK rifle but the trigger is a little creepy, nothing that is going to cost you any accuracy but if you are a perfectionist it might piss you off a little.

I hear that pretty frequently, but there is no creep whatsoever in my Howa trigger and very, very little travel when it breaks. Maybe the older Howas or maybe the triggers that people have jacked with?
