From Houston but went to Louisiana for first duck hunt ever last weekend and now my brother and I have the itch to keep doing it but we have no idea how or where to start

Is there public land that is worth going to before the season and scouting around or would you need a lease?

Do yall have any tips for us to get started such as do we need a boat? Would kayaking work? Or is there places we can wade in and do some duck hunting?

How do you learn how to start calling and what decoys would you need or do you need anything like that when just starting?

Any help would be awesome thanks guys!

The answer to all your questions is yes , but it takes lots of gas and time to hunt public , but there are lots of ducks on public that can be killed , as for the calling most people should stick with a simple quack or a wigeon /pintail whistle , and , get you a few decoys of any type , if you can afford them get the best you can and add to them as you can , my wife says I have too many { thats like having too much money} ha ha you can get a good c/d and learn simple calls but keep it simple , get a good jerk string it will be your best weapon on ducks
If you want to p/m me I will help you in any small way I can
