I'm only 5 miles or so from Cedar Creek Lake and it sure sounded like there were a few hunters that were shooting well after 6pm this evening. The last shot I heard was arond 6:25
No doubt about the AR crap, just damn shame hunters don't have self control and knowledge

I don't know for sure that's where the soothing was coming from..... There are several soil conservation lakes near me also but never heard any shooting from them past 10-11am. I'm just assuming it was from CCL

It happens all the time on our lakes, there were even people hunting during that week that it was closed. Only the law abiding citizens care.

I didn't go on any evening hunts this season so I never looked it up, but aren't legal shooting hours 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes hour after sunset? Weather.com says sunset for that area is a 5:55pm. Sounds legal to me...

Oh ok. Guess I am thinking deer and non migratory birds...Can't you hunt these 30 minutes after sunset?

the thing about baiting is, even a rookie hunter could have a 170 bird season if they bait holes

Like I tell them at work "There will always be cheaters". No one ever truly has pride in achievements derived from cheating. Have pride in what you achieve within the rules and be happy with that....speaking of that, who smacked some ducks today, lol?
