Ive never bought from them, but have the really ever been cheaper than dirt on anything?
Not sure when they started, but for the last few years they seem to need to be called "Higher than **ll"

I have bought a grand total of one (1) thing from CTD in the last 15 or so years. It was a shoulder bag that had features I just couldn't find in the others I was looking at. I walked in their store, bought the bag, and walked back out before anyone I knew might have seen me in there.

Back when they first opened, and were a small retail with a huge warehouse out back, they were great to deal with on mil-surp arms, ammo, and accessories. Now, they are just a bunch of profit motivated hacks, with no concern for their customer base or gun enthusiasts as a whole. . I will never buy from them again.

I know one of the head web guys at CTD and he told me several weeks ago they are sitting on about 2,000 PMAGS but they show out of stock on the web page.

Yesterday, they posted PMAGS for $49 and change. So, it appears they do indeed like to play games with products and capitalize on the market.

What really sucks is I need an extra 17HMR mag for my t-bolt and they are the only place with them in stock!

I think it was more of an issue that they were not honoring their prices. They didnt want the prices out there because they refused to sell stuff at their own prices! The weekend of the shooting I went to buy some bulk 5.56 from the catalog guys in the back, he said they were all out of everything but one type from their catalog. THEN he says, "And yeah, I cant even sell it to you for that price, add $120" this was their own DEC. catalog!

This is what I was told by a CTD employee at the catalog counter. The store, the catalog, and the online sales are owned by 3 different people. This is why most of the time their prices are all different. The part numbers are different also for the same exact items. I was going to purchase an item from them and I looked the price and part number up online. I then drive over to the store to purchase the item and they didn't carry it in the store and it was out of stock and a totally different price and part number in the catalog. This is when the employee explained this to me. So if they show Pmags online for $20 don't plan on running up to their store and get them for that cause you probably wont.

I'm not sure what a company raising its prices has to do with an attorney who is hired by someone hurt in a car wreck or other accident. Explain?

It's called exploiting a bad situation for personal gain.

I went to the McKinney store early last week and was sickened by prices. Will never do business again with CTD. I view them as opportunistic pigs. Academy has at least maintained reasonable pricing.

Actually I have found a use for CTD that hurts them twice even if they never know it.
If I want to handle a piece of gear that I have read about, I will go into the local CTD and pretty much handle it to my hearts content. THEN I go home and order it from someone else.

Was in there today to check out a Sightmark holo sight.

Odd observations.
Dang near EVERY bloody AR rifle was $1999 or higher. I saw two for $1699
They have a piece of crap Barret semi-auto on the wall that looks like it was rode VERY hard .... $14999. 3 months ago that thing was $8999 (and still overpriced)
5.56 ammo shelves were COMPLETELY clear
Mags are 99.99 for a USGI 30 round. (seriously?)
Ammo prices were flat out bugnuts insane.
7.62X54R was selling for $179 / 440 round can (aka rape)
TCM-22 was still massively in stock (would love to find another source) and is now cheaper than .45ACP

I just ordered ordered online a few hundred rounds 22LR ammos.
The price was reasonable, and they are the only one that have any 22lr on stock.

When they run out of stuff to sell, they can live off the money they made from jacking up the prices...

rofl

I am laughing with you, not at you. cheers I do the same as you at times. Check it out there, order it cheaper elsewhere.

Typical behavior from CTD.

They tend to be a driver in market pricing, it seems. And yet, people still buy from them.

Some will never learn.
