It's the thin barrel undercover. Round is a 38 +p. not sure if gun is safe to shot that round

Duct tape it to a post and fire it with a string. A long string

What I meant was. The gun wasn't designed to shoot 38spl+p

Sounds like it needs a trip to a good gunsmith to be checked out. If a +P round is stuck there might be issues other than the stuck round.

i'am just plain curious

what went on?

but to be safe as stated, take it to a gunsmith

although the duct tape and a long string is interesting

funny

First open cylinder and prop upright and pour Ed's Red in cylinder and let sit for a day to see if it will break any corrosion. Cartridge may have be in leather loop and had verdigris form on cylinder. If that fails to loosen it, drill it out from the front (slow speed), pour powder out, close cylinder and detonate firing pin, open cylinder, tap it out. Be interesting to know how/why cartridge stuck.

Don't drill out a darn thing!!!

Open the cylinder and tap out the live round from the front with a wooden dowell and a small shop hammer. It ought to break loose with a couple of firm licks.

Why dont you call charter arms with the serial # in hand and ask if that particular model can handle +p ammo. If so shoot, then tap out the case. I might go as far as using some PB BLaster and a light tap or two but that'd be it.

Gun Smith. Most ideas posted will work, but smith has tools and experience. Not the time to learn from mistakes. Also, he can check out what the cause was and fix if needed. Sure price would not be exuberant. Think of it as price for peace of mind. My $0.02.

this. most manufactures dont recommend +p ammo because extended use will cause firecutting. The gun is not going to blowup with one shell.

If you fire it, it will be ok. 1 +p round will not damage the gun. But, a wooden dowell rod about about the size of a 38 case will work ok. Put it in a vice and tap it out. Make sure there is nothing that can strike the primer during or after the round comes out.

LOL! Bubba, hold my beer while I drill out this live round in my gun! If you were to drill it out, and a hot metal shaving hit that powder, what do you think could happen. Here's your sign! (Sorry, I couldn't resist!)

Choot it, or a trip to the gunsmith. Honestly, I'd fire it. Protect those eyes.

Personally I would not shoot it unless using the taped and long string method. Agree that a few +P rounds will not hurt most revolvers but since none of us know the history of this gun I will say err on the side of caution, 2cents

Absolutely do not drill into it. Pushing with a wooden dowel from the opposite end would work as long as it's not a soft point. If it is (or even if it isn't). Try pushing an empty .38 spl brass case into it from the opposite side so you are brass on brass at the rim of the case. Obviously, always point it away from anything you don't want to shoot and wear protection. Soak in a little lubricant first.

I wouldn't shoot it without understanding why it's so tightly stuck in the cylinder. If the bullet itself has become bonded to the cylinder wall, shooting might not be a good move at all......

I agree...shoot the damn thing. If you were closer I'd shoot it for you.

Not gonna hurt a darn thing.
