One set of Dies over another? RCBS, Redding, Hornady etc... I know it's been talked about a bit but I can't find a recent post on it. I've used RCBS for the most part over the years, maybe a few Hornady thrown in the mix. Thoughts?

I have Lee Dies and I have RCBS dies. For some thing I like one of the other. To me it seems I prefer the Lee dies in the smaller stuff, .223 6mm Rem, etc and then I prefer RCBS which 25-06 7mm-08, 7mm Mag. At the base level dies I don't think it makes much difference. Now get up to the big boy dies and I think Redding is the best.

Thanks for the input. Do you feel the Redding's are closer on tolerances?

For most loading chores there is not much difference between them IMO. When you get to the precision bushing type dies Forster or Redding please. Though for just neck sizing the Lee Collet die works very well

I've put RCBS and Redding on equal footing as far as quality. For rifle dies I only buy bushing dies and each brand has produced outstanding results. I also own Lee dies and the only problem I have with them is the lack of a set screw or clamping screw for the lock ring. They only have a rubber O-ring, unless that has changed recently. All of my dies have timing marks on the die body and lock ring to show me if something has moved, but the RCBS and Redding do not need as much attention as the Lee dies. I use a turret press anyway so a die losing it's settings is rare.

I've used RCBS, Lee, and Redding.
I've settled on Lee.
