Nice. We also have a blind we call "The Hilton."

It has 11 windows and 2 lazy boy recliners in it.

Bring that out to the Permian Basin and you could rent it out to the oilfield hands for about 450 a month.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Thanks guys . . as far is the futon is concerned, many times we will stay in the blind at night with the outside plywood windows down so no light gets out (The inside windows are plexiglass). That way we don't spook any deer/hogs driving/walking into the blind in the morning. It has worked very well.

I also just put up an Alusive Technologies "Kill Light" on the feeder. The futon will come in handy if we do an all night hog hunt and take turns on watch.

foosball? With the futon folded up we would probably have room for it, but the noise probabily would not be too good for hunting :-)

We do have a coleman stove and keep some canned goods on hand. Can make coffee in the morning and it sure comes in handy during the rut when we sometimes stan in the blind all day.

The dimensions were noted in Part I where we were actually building it in the garage. It's 8' X 10'.

I've been thinking about putting in a solar pannel to charge a car battery for lighting and to power a spotlight for hogs. I've got a gas lantern and a couple of battery powered lights now which work just fine; however, a car battery could also power the kids electronics to keep them occupied during long stand stays.

It would be nice to have a port-a-potty for when we stay overnight or sit in blind all day.

It was a great learning project for Matt (and for myself for that matter). He learned how to use various power tools and the rewards of a job well done. After we had completed building it and putting it up in the field, he told me "Wow... all the father/son projects of kids I know are little projects like building a model airplane or a bird house or someting, but we built a small camp house!!". To top it all off, He killed his first buck (a nice 8 Pt) out of "The Condo".

That is a heck of a stand!! For a toilet you could always just make a "urinal" funnel piped out the side and away from the blind will take care of half the issues at least.

^^^This works. Get a 5 gallon bucket, cut holes in the bottom and bury it. Load it up with rocks and sand and then stick the hose into the sand and bury it all. Makes for a great urinal and covers all scents.

That thing is big enough that it might get you on the county tax rolls as an improvement.

I notice that you have not anchored that blind down yet. Are you going to?

It's been there for two hunting seasons with no problems as it's very wide, long, and relatively close to the ground. I should probably anchor it down though.

Looks great. I would anchor it though. It would take a lot to blow it over, but if it did, it would be heck to right it.
