For some reason this year I still pretty darn mad at 'em going into the last weekend. I plan on hunting today, a private duck club I got invited to around the Red River tomorrow, then public Sat.

Got to the spot this morning and had to flash a few folks off. Started out great with a couple greenheads feet down over the dekes. Then a single robber came in. Then out of nowhere the fog started rollin' in. As it was starting to roll in I heard a hen and drake mallard. Call back to them and I see the silhouettes coming in through the fog to my feed chuckle. I was 100% sure I'd picked out the drake, being the larger duck and all. Nope... oh well.

Then the fog hit full force. Didn't see anything for another 2 hours until it let up. Passed on a group of ringers and 45 minutes later wished I didn't. Then the patience finally paid off. Something I've never done and has to be one of biggest highlights of my season. I worked in a group of 40 pinners into the dekes. I had my oversized pinners on the jerk rig and was whistling away. Every bird in that group was a drake and my heart was thumping like crazy when I had them work a few times and could tell they were gonna commit.

Nice we are giving em a send off this weekend , I have been so busy have only had 1 fun hunt sooo 3 more days and the great duck depression sits in.....
