I went to a spot that held birds late last year. I got there about 20 minutes before LST. Shined the truck headlights on the pond and literally 100 or more Mallards got up. I was thinking it was going to be a good hunt. I figured they would make it back by 9am to loaf......wrong! At 9:15am, I said, "screw it" and went to Academy to buy some clearance items! Thinking about hitting it tomorrow evening!

Yeah, don't listen to me. I'm just an idiot.
Lol. Duckbill that was funny! The dude up top has already taken lots of bone before this deer, both mule and whitetail.

What does that have to do with duck hunting? I am working on getting a limit of ducks tomorrow evening, that's for sure!

Thinking about hitting it tomorrow evening! Spook them the night before! They will come back in the morning. I have a pond that the birds were roosting on last year. Literally 300+ green heads were using this pond. The first hunt we showed up in the am and spooked the birds while we were setting up. We didn't pull the trigger that morning. A few days later the birds were doing the same thing. I made a decision to spook them the night before and hope that they would come back in the morning. We drove the truck to the pond as the sun was no longer in sight, but still light enough to see. The birds left that night and did what we wanted them to do the next morning. We ended up with 9 green heads, a hen and 2 honkers as a bonus. Just something to think about Here is the thread http://www.texashuntingforum.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2944042/1
