I saw this earlier and personally think he's a bit lucky. Has anyone ever done this while moose hunting? They will look for a brawl in this these types of situations.

Getting ready for my moose hunt and alot of the videos I have seen this is pretty common practice during the rut to get bulls in close.

the guy is an idiot! walking around in the woods with real moose antlers will get him SHOT! not to mention attacked by a dominant bull! he is very lucky he didn't get trampled! most guides in Alaska & Canada use boat paddles.....

So if you fool a moose into thinking your a small moose with a boat paddle instead of real antlers he will stomp you less?

I have been guiding for moose for 35 years. Calling them in during the rut is a blast and I never get tired of it. However there is a point at which things go beyond common sense.

Sadly, I have noticed that since the video craze started people are doing all sorts of things that fall into the grand standing category to be famous on YouTube and what have you. Even PH's in Africa doing things with elephant that make others in the profession shake their heads, all because of the video craze.

How bout this one? What are the chances that he crapped his shorts during the charge?

That's another youngin, but if a full grown cow is posturing with her ears tucked back and down like that your in for a world of chit! I used to have so many problems with them bastids around the house, was a real pain in the azz at times with the dogs and kids. This was downtown Anchorage by the college after some college kids had riled this cow with her calf up throwing snow balls at em. Disregard where its says it was Canada, it wasn't.

Killed him!

http://articles.latimes.com/1995-01-15/news/mn-20332_1_wildlife-officials

People always think bears when they think Alaska and danger, those cows with calves are a hell of a lot nastier than bears are and the cows with calves are everywhere from city streets to your backyard , bears are hard to find!

Looks like that moose was doing the pachanga on his dumbaxx! I agree that the whole "I have a video camera, I'm gonna be famous" deal is getting outta hand. I'm personally getting sick of seeing every bonehead with a camera thinking that the rest of the world wants to watch them do stupid stuff. Some of it's cool, most is just ignorant.

Moose don't strike me as being very intelligent or particularly bright.

Brain surgeons they are not. Many years ago during Elk season 3 of us were walking on a logging rd in N ID. We had a juvenile bull step out of the brush and start walking towards us, mind you we all have 30.06 but he didn't get the memo. We are backing up and he's picking up speed. At this point I've leveled my rifle at him, when my buddy hits him square in the nose with a fist sized rock, he stopped for about a 1/10 of a second and then charged. By this time we had gotten to a wide spot on the road and all bailed off the road two low and one high. Fortunately he just kept going up the road. We did not want to kill a moose in an area with no season but that was our next option.

You got that right, the problem is that they are BIG and they are everywhere in Alaska. They live in and around every city, they get hit by vehicles daily and they live in your yard and around your house. Witnessed a lot of horrific vehicle accidents with the buggers too!

My son who sometimes is on here Anglin ag has footage of a 50" bull 8ft from him. I got pretty upset with him when I saw it. He stopped calling long before it got that close but it was dialed in on him and the shed he was holding.

Haha what an elusive creature, I'd rather hunt a whitetail they seem a little more intelligent. I dont think putting some antlers on my had would bring in a nice buck
