I hate hogs as much as a farmer but since the drought of 2010 I believe it was I have not seen many. This deer season I did not see a one. No scat no tracks no ruts. I am all for not having a lot if hogs but now I'm starting to miss the practice when I'm bow hunting or having something else to shoot when it's not deer season. Anyone else seen their hog herd basically disappear ? Fannin co hunters I hunt off 82 between bonham and Paris

It's most likely the rain. I bet you see more once it gets wet. Either that, or they don't like gay guys (according to Phil).

My FIL has some land just north of the Gov land (near Telephone) and we are getting overrun by hogs. Hoping to shoot a few this weekend.

They were hard to come by when it got so dry, but they were still around. Mainly in real thick cover or in what creeks they could find water which wasn't many. They have show back up in the last month. I didn't catch or kill one for months. Now I am seeing them again regularly and catch almost every time I set the trap. I live in southeast Fannin. Also my buddies who dog were having heck catching because it was so dry. They said the dogs were having a hard time trailing losing the scent because so dry.
