Went on a solo hunt this mornin couldn't find anyone to go with me I hit a public spot I saw about 300-400 ducks on yesterday about 10 minutes till lst the ducks started dumpin in but on the wrong side lst rolls around and a single gaddie drake come to the deeks one shot dead so I picked up a few decoys and headed to where the birds were landing shot two on the way over there made a half a$$ blind and threw the deeks out and another 5 minutes and I was done on with an all drake limit by 7:10

Got one of them mohawk teal

Also got a teal that had rice breast

Our lone sprig from this weekend had rice breast and I almost had my buddy convinced to eat it. Lol.

Nice shoot

From Delta Waterfowl just in case anyone has questions on ricebreast:

The parasite itself does not cause morbidity or mortality in waterfowl, and the cysts have little effects on the waterfowl host. Apparently, the cysts become “invisible” during cooking, and health officials tell us that ingesting cooked Sarcocystosis cysts (cooking and eating ricebreast ducks) does not pose a health hazard. However, Sarcocystosis infections are one of the most conspicuous parasitic conditions of wild ducks, and infected ducks are definitely not appealing, and most are understandingly discarded by hunters. For hunters that harvest “ricebreast” ducks, it is important to not feed infected birds to pets, or to throw such birds where they can be consumed by wild carnivores as this may only help the cycle of the parasite. Dispose of any infected birds in garbage or by burning.

Not sure I'd eat it though.

They only say that because the parasite is transferred through fecal matter of carnivores to other host birds.

So don't eat it and then take a dump in the woods either.

Pretty sure they said if its cooked its fine. Don't throw it out raw for something to eat and just pass the parasite along.
