My buddy Jason Craig at DTK Waterfowl guided a hunt this morning for some of his repeat customers. One of the guys is pretty particular about his birds he shoots, and low a behold, he managed to get this guy! Yellow feet and bill like a mallard, but it has the head, tail, and feathering of a wigeon. Pretty awesome duck! They also managed to kill 3 greater canadians in the hunt as well... I wish I would have guided this one, but either way I'm glad the hunt went great! It has been one of the best experiences I've ever had guiding for Jason, he has one great operation and manages to get the ducks! Happy hunting everyone, I'm going to go sulk on my couch wishing this duck was mine!

Actually looks more like a mallard/pintail hybrid, but it could be wigeon.

I have seen a few different hybrids all mallard something else and they all look a little different. I have a mallard/pintail hybrid mounted that I killed on Sam Rayburn several years ago.
