I'm one of those who has never found a way to keep my feet and toes warm on the coldest of days. Yeah, those chemical warmers work good, but can be just plain uncomfortable. I recently ran across an ad for Thermacell Insoles in one of the outdoor rags and it really caught my attention. If these things work as well on cold feet as that other Thermacell product does on bugs, I'm buying a pair despite the price. After all, they might turn any cheap pair of boots into an otherwise $300 bargain. Link

Reviews of these are very indifferent, not many say they are just ok, most people love em or hate em. I'm considering a pair for Montana next year but still haven't talked to a person that owns em.

Buddy of mine had the browning socks, said they sucked; Thermacell is a great product, we'll see if we can get them

My concern would be size of them and how they are made. They have to be thicker than normal insoles in boots so either you would have to buy new boots or boots will fit tighter. Also how well are controls and wires/heatpads concealed for comfort. I can not imagine trying to walk all day with that bothering me.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

wow interesting.. I've always worn doubled up wool socks on my trips up north but that doesn't always work when it gets below 10 degrees One of the biggest mistake guys make on cold feet is not allowing enough air space to inhibit warmth between your feet and the insulating products of the boot and your socks. My cold weather boots were always at least a 1/2 size if not a full size bigger than my hiking boots. Too much sock and not enough room makes for very cold feet.

After reading many reviews on the Bass Pro website, it appears people who have bought them either love or hate them. Most gave them either a five or one star rating.
Perhaps the ones who did not like them didn't use them correctly.

I found my boots to be noticeably warmer when I quit lacing them tightly. Something cheap to try!

It looks like you youngsters need some help. You simply get the very best insulated HEADGEAR that is available (I don't know what the latest and greatest is) and put one of those chemical hand warmers on the very top of your head (under the cap) and bingo - no more cold feet.

I've never thought of the warmers in my head gear. I have found that felt pac boots and a good pair of socks are an inexpensive way to keep my feet warm.
However, when I sit outside for a couple of hours nothing seems to work. Last year I bought some Maine Hunting boots from some well known mail order place up North. All of the reviews from up North said that they were great. However, I found that my feet froze in them when sitting still in 35 degree weather. That stuff certainly isn't built for walking on rocks. When I put in a negative review, it disappeared pretty quickly.
Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.

When my feet get cold in the blind I just turn the heater to the floorboard, nice and toasty!

Heres your answer folks when it's really cold you need bigger boots, they don't even have to be high dollar they just need to give you room to double up on sock's.

I use spray on anti persperent on my toes. Keeps my feet from sweeting which keeps them much warmer. Also agree with don't lace your boots to tight.

Guys I have regularly done activities in temperatures that many of you would never even think of going outside in. Even as a fireman when I lived and worked in Alaska I had two pair of structural boots, ones for summer and ones for winter. My hunting or ice fishing style pac boots that I wore only in the winter, were easily 1 size bigger than the boots I wore say in September. Good quality boots with adequate insulation (Thinsulate or whatever) with good quality wool socks and some air in between the two work real well. If you think that doubling up socks on your normal boots is helping you.....your wrong, its actually hurting you. Gotta have good blood flow and a space to capture that heat in. Though i'm guessing many guys dont want to fork out the cash for good quality cold weather boots down here when the true cold days are far and few in between and if you wore those boots while hunting in the 90 degree Nov days your feet would sweat like crazy.

Once again, boot blankets. You can't walk in them, but in a blind or stand, they insulate like no boot can (plus, you put them on OVER your boots). Boot Blankets at Cabelas $34.99

Take it from a real Northern Yankee ( Michigan native for 55 years) the best and most comfortable cold weather boots I have ever worn are Ice King pac boots, I think LaCrosse makes them. I have boughten every member of my family a pair and they never get cold feet anymore on those 15-20 degree mornings in the stand. They are very light, comfortable and warm I think they cost around $150 a pair but trust me when I tell you, once you wear them you will always use them when it gets cold
