First post on this forum... Back in 1984 I killed my first buck in Burnet Co 12pt non-typical w/a model 94 win 30-30. HE wasn't real big, but he had had some cool brow tines,I've always called it the devil deer, brow tines looked like flames. I wish I wouldn't of shot him, in hindsight he could've been a real interesting deer later on. I still have the antlers. ETA:Interesting sidenote, I shot this mainframe 8 pt. on the same 88 ac ranch in Burnet Co, 28 years later on the exact date and morning !!!

1976 on the family ranch in San Saba county. I was 10 years old using my grandfathers Remington 722 in 257 Roberts. Killed a very "average" 8 pointer but he was a Boone and Crockett to me. My grandfather was left handed as I am and had fitted the rifle with a nice Fajen stock with lefty cheekpiece. The gun and the ranch now both belong to me and I still remember that day everytime I go past the spot where I was hunting.

Shot a spike and a doe in '80 with a 303 british. Lot of gun for skinny little 8 year old kid. First shot popped me off the chair but got a doe. Second one I stood up and popped a spike that was trying to mount her. haha. Nobody believed I'd shoot that gun twice.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

Bandera County, 30-06, 1990, I was 14, freehand out of a tree on my sister's ranch between Medina and Utopia. Gut shot that poor deer and she ran into the hills only to return and die right under my tree an hour later.

Angelina Co: 7yo...'91..doe, win 70 FW 270. I didn't realize how bad I got stomped until it was over
Didn't get to shoot my first buck until I was 11..14 3/4" 8pt, 2yo, neck shot with a Remmy youth mod 7 .243. I killed 8 more bucks on the same trail he was shot on.
