2nd Ellis County Varmint Competition
Date: Feb 8-9 Registration Friday 6pm-7pm
Hunt starts at 8pm
Weigh in Saturday night at 8pm

Location:Boyce Feed and Grain 441 S College St, Waxahachie, TX 75165

General Info: Cash only for entry fee ($50 per team). Heavy pots available for $10 each. Ten animal cap on all species. This contest will last for a total of 24 hours. 1-5 man teams no more.
10 animal cap on each species
Bobcat=35pts
Coyote=25pts
Fox=15pts
Coon=5pts
Heavy pots for Bobcat, Coyote, and Coon for $10 each

Rules: No pooling of animals. No baiting an area to hunt. (If the animal has died you may hunt by the animal but can not either kill an animal and place it somewhere or move and animal after natural death.) Team members must hunt on the same piece of property but may split up and hunt as long as they remain on the same piece of property. You must only hunt on land you have permission to hunt or state required land. No shooting off of public roads. If you drive up on an animal or walk up on an animal you must come to a complete stop, squeak, call, or make some kind of noise to make that animal commit vefore pulling the trigger. By commit I mean he must stop and look at you. You may shoot raccoons out of trees as long as they are looking at you. All team members may not start hunting until the tournament begins. Only animals that have been shot during the contest hours will count for the contest. No adding weight to your animal. Must follow state rules. No trapping of animals allowed.
Payout:1st 75%
2nd 25%
Heavy Pot: 100% for each
Registration will be from 6pm-7-pm Friday evening and your team may start hunting at 0800. No mail in.

Hey Panther, thanks for heading this one up for me. I have a lot going next month and just probably can't do it. Hopefully I will be able to move some stuff around.

No problem bud I don't mind helping out anytime I hope you guys move stuff around and are able to hunt. I do like the new time frame.

how many teams did yall get on the first one?

I'm really not sure exactly I believe there were around 13 but hoping for better weather this next one.

Thanks Bob and 007 Hunter last hunt was muddy and nasty led to a challenging 24hrs and also led to the flu for me.

Looks like this is going to be a good one... Is this normally done on the 2nd weekend of every month?

We try to plan it on the weekend with the least amount of moon so it's usually how that falls in the month or just whatever is best for us.
