Spoke to the taxidermist yesterday and he told me this buck was 7.5 yrs or older and saved the jaw for me. I had looked at the jaw in a hurry that morning and saw it was at least 6.5 yrs old. Thanks again everyone.

Great story and buck. Congrats to you both. I hope to someday be able to get my dad back into hunting as he was the one that got me into it. Some of my best memories are hunting with my dad.

Wow, I never saw this post, great yal got him!

Dang sometimes we all disagre and get hacked off on our place with whats going on, but it all works out in the end. Its been about 5 years since Ive sat in the blind with either my dad or brother... gonna have to make it a point to do that again, always were great hunts as long as you didnt mind the stank of an occasional fart or snoring.

Congrats to both of yal!

Awesome story didn't realize he got him. I am sure that one story you both will not soon forget. Congrats on a great buck for DAD, nothing like getting that first season done right.

Awesome. You're a very lucky and blessed man. I lost my Dad nearly 30 years ago and I almost quit hunting after he passed but I knew that wasn't what he'd want me to do so I kept at it. I miss hunting with my Dad but have had a lot of good times hunting with my sons and now my grandsons.
I'm sure he smiles down on us even now.

Ranchman, what a great story. I have a sizable lump in my throat right now. Congratulations to your Dad and to you for not giving up. Beautiful buck too.

What an awesome story. As my own dad gets older, 74, these stories hit a little closer to home each time. I can only hope that I am as good a son as you stxranchman. And I hope my sons are as good to me as well.
