 I killed the biggest Bobcat I've ever seen!

Last Saturday evening I was on my last 20 minutes of a doe hunt in Ballinger. I was in the Mesquites next to a wheat field. I had 20 minutes of legal deer light left and saw what I thought, was a small coyote. I pulled up my range finder and discovered it wasn't a small coyote, but a big bob cat crossing the middle of the field like he owned the place. Ranged him at 195 yards, dialed up .4 Mils, got a sight picture, matched his walking speed and fired a round. Well a 140 gr. A-max is a little much for a bobcat, but it's all I had. The exit looked pretty bad, but I hope my taxidermist can sew it up and we'll put it toward the wall. He's gonna be a full body mount. The pics don't really do him justice. The tailgate is a my friend's Toyota Tacoma.  I havn't measured or weighed him, but if he were stretched out he'd be nearly as long as the rifle.

Nice Kitty, it is amazing how well holes can be closed up on a cat by a good Taxidermist.

I should've taken a pic of his paw in my hand.
It was a little intimidating to think if, in another scenario, I got him cornered he would've left me alone pretty quick since I would've smelled like chit!

Congrats man. Nothing like shooting predators. I would pass up a good Buck for a pick up bed full of coyotes and cats.

Congrats man. Nothing like shooting predators. I would pass up a good Buck for a pick up bed full of coyotes and cats. I know the feeling. The problem is that since I was 15 I've shot enough of both to fill more than one pickup bed full of predators, and only one buck. Maybe God just wants me to be a predator killer? Thanks everyone!

Heck when God made animals eyes reflect in light you know he wanted you to kill more predators LOL. Nothing better than watching them eyes bouncing in at night.
