I just got through my first year using my bad boy buggy and I love the the thing. I see deer on the way to the stand and it makes it very enjoyable to scoot around the ranch on the thing. I just wanted to post a pic of it and post about a good experience.

Looks good. I'd like to get one of those.

I use mine on a 2800 acre ranch it works good its fun to sneak around or go rattling in. Only thing I recommend is dont get it if its your only rig. You do have to charge it if you take it on a long morning hunt. We have a ranger, and jeep so I don't mind letting it charge if I need to do anything else.

About how many miles do you get out of it before it needs recharging?

I tested mine on our 9000 acres near Ozone. Round trip hitting all our stands and feeders 18 miles and still had about half a charge when it was new. I would guess with mild terrain changes about 30 miles between charges.

I looked at the new ones at Shoppas in Fort Worth. EZGO bought out bad boy and now they make a ton of different models. The one I liked was 4x4 with electric on the front axle and gas on the rear axle. You can run on electric 2wd or gas 2wd or both at the same time. I dont see how you could beat that. Pricey tho. They also have a 72 volt 4x4 electric model.

Not to rain on anyone, but...I recently visited a ranch, a first class outfit, that is commercially hunted, and has five or six Bad Boys.

I have wanted one for some time, and I asked the ranch owner about them. He expressed disappointment in them. Said they are made in China, constantly needing repairs, have to order parts. Keep in mind, this is a commercial outfit, and noone is going to take care of your equipment like you will.
Now, I don't have any experience myself, so I can't really say, but that kinda put the damper on my desire to have one.

Were they pre EZGO or bought after EZGO bought Bad boy out " I have heard the old ones were trouble. I know EZGO makes a quality golf cart. I guess they could be importing them from china. IDK.

they are great tools until one of the batteries starts going bad then if you dnt catch it quick it will start dragging down every other one...then you will be changing batteries left and right and there bout 100-$125 a pop.... the ones we had were good through the first year or so but after that they would leave you stranded after about 5 miles every time

We use ours on a 3000 acre ranch . The bad boy worked pretty good for what we wanted it to do. The thing will go anywhere and haul a two big guys and bag of corn and a few dead hogs no problem. It is our only electric vehicle on the ranch we also use a old jeep and a new ranger. To me the bad boy is most the most fun to drive around because you do see more a lot more game while on the ranch. At the same time I would not have just electric on a bigger ranch. They are a lot of fun just know they have do have limitations on range and you will love it.

What is the difference between that and a go cart with bigger wheels?

Drive train for one thing. The Bad Boys have heavier duty motors = more torque.

For the money, buy a nice quad and get more reliability and longer usable life.

I agree if I wouldn't get it as if I didn't have another rig. It's always nice to have a gas and not worry about it. These things are a lot of fun though.
