This Big Boy just showed up. So far he has hit my feeder 3 times and I'm trying to get a pattern on him. What do you think he weighs. The last one similar to him that I shot in Nov. punched the scales at 382.

I'll guess 300+ for that big boy. 250 if you can castrate him with one shot!

If your feeder legs are about 6' high I'm going about 160, including the 20# of nuts.

It's really hard to guess weights when you have little to compare the animal to. I remember back when I was farming and raised hogs, when it came market time sorting through a herd of 100 fat hogs trying to pick out the ones at 220 lbs. was tricky. It was always nice when the buyer for Hormel would come & mark the ones that were ready. When we bear hunt in canada, we use the 55 gallon bait barrels for a guide to judge a bears' size. Bears are also very difficult to judge size on, and many rookies blast a yearling 100 lb. cub thinking it was a much larger animal. Not only to be disappointed seeing the size of the cub, but to be the laughing stock back at camp. We figure a big 400+ lb. bear is as big as that barrel. A good way to measure sizes. This works for hogs as well when looking for a trophy boar. I have a verticle PVC pipe over a T-post to measure hogs heighth & just a old 5 gallon bucket laying by the feeder to help judge sizes. The boar in the photo is a big solid hog, but without anything to compare to guessing a weight is tough business, especially in a night photo. He's got a big solid head on him, so I'll go 245+. Please post his weight when you get him revoman.
