I will apologize in advance for interweb scouting but....I usually hunt around freeport, but work is sending to Beaumont for the last week of the season. Wondering if the WMA's in the area are worth the work/walk, or if there are any other areas to check out? Looks pretty ducky around there for sure. Any help would be appreciated. PM's are fine

Yes, if you have your book look in to JD Murphee Wildlife area. They have walk-in's there but you had better get there early. Most people boat it and the gates open at 4am to pick your spot so I would suggest getting there at 4. Or there is also Mcfaddin National Wildlife Refuge that has walk-in's. They also open up at 4am. I hunt both every weekend so if you need some help I can give you a hand
