I am looking for a pop up blind to rifle hunt from. Would like it to be light and easy to set up and take down every day.

Also want to be able to fit 2 people in it.

What do you suggest?

Just bought a Barronett blind and you could put a bed in there. It is 6'6" in the center and 6' x 6' for around 175

I've had good luck in the past with the ameristep blinds.

I bought one of the Ameristep Spring Steel Doghouse's. Not sure how long it would last and prob wouldnt recommend leaving it set up all season but its easy to carry and easy to set up.

Academy has them on sale for $59.99

I got an ameristep coolhouse. Its very spacious and fits 2 people easily. I got it at academy for about $150 out the door. It survived being flooded so it think it's an awesome blind for the money.

ameristep for 49.00-59.00

the oldest one i have is
around 4 years old now. was
going in the trash, but i put
some gorilla duct tape on it
where a storm tore it, and it's
out right now. been out since
the last of august and will stay
out until january.
yes-they rot.they're cloth.
they're 50 bucks. i couldn't
have built a blind cheaper unless
the materials would have been free.
fantastic value for 50 dollars.

I just set up an Ameristep Doghouse this afternoon. When I got it @ Academy, the Realtree AP were $49.95; Realtree APG, $59.95. I don't like the window setup, but it is spacious enough for two, affordable and functional.

I won one an Ameristep at a DU dinner. Have left it in the woods from Oct.-Jan the last two seasons. It has faded and is still in one piece. It will fit an adult and a child and is graet for a gun hunt. With my bow, I have to drop the back window and let my right elbow out to come to full draw (I'm 6'3" w/ 30" draw. For $150, however, I bet you could find one of the XL versions.

I have three popups and the oldest is 7 years old. They do not rot if you put them out in September and take them down in January. I clean mine and store it in it's original box in my "Man Closet". Storing my gear inside (the house, not garage) during summer keeps my gear from deteriating or rotting.

BPS online catalog offers customer reviews of their blinds.

Ameristeps are good but they will fade into a redish color if the suns shines on it at all, they will also tare real easy. I know it's not what you wanted to hear, but Primos Double Bulls are more expensive but will last a lot longer than any of the others and won't fade nearly as bad. We have tried just about every one out there and finally decided to get all Double Bulls, save money in the long run.

My ameristep tore after one season in the elements. I patched it with duct tape and I am using it again this year. I can't say I would recommend one

I know some complain about them fading...but I know I brush in all my popups so fading isn't an issue to me.

I have the Ameristep Doghouse as well... Left out one season from Oct to Jan. Faded, tore in a seem. Pin holes and wearing in ceiling... Hated the zippers also, too loud..

I think I am going with Double Bull... 320 online... Bigger silent entry door and windows...

Buy cheap and just hunt them till there rags on wire. Then, if it's in a good spot, build back up around it with fencing and brush. Or any variation on this idea.
