Sheriff in Benzie County, Michigan, which is in the northwest lower peninsula of Michigan, just did the same thing. Said he took an oath to uphold the Constitution and will not enforce the "assault weapon" ban law, if it is enacted.

If states can ignore federal laws against marijuana, why not a weapons ban?
