Does anyone have a good recipe to cook a venison roast in crock pot? Never cooked one and want to give it a try.

Both above work. I suggest chopped onions in with the taters n carrots.
Season the meat either before putting in pot or after all ingredients are in. I like garlic powder, salt and pepper, simple.
As to your liquid, a third option is 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup and a 1/2 to 1 can of water. You csn also use a paket or 2 of dry broen gravy mix as a 4th option. Some brown the roast first, some do not.
I have tried all the abpove and all are great, try them snd choose your fsvorite

My post above cpovers ingredient options.
Cooking lin a crock pot is straight forward, do any of the above, put in in your crok, cover, set on high and leave it alone for 4 hours, it will be done, check tenderness and if more is desired turn to low and leave until your happy, then turn to warm until ready to eat.
I often put one on in camp shortly before the evening hunt and when back in csmp supper is ready.
I keep all my roasts and the wifey and I have them quite often, easy and awesome.
Really hard to not do right with above, enjoy.
Curt

Do you cook the veggies in with the meat the entire time or meat only then add veggies?

Search for a recipe called "Coke Roast". We've made it with beef, venison, wild pork, Oryx and wild hog in the slow cooker. Always turns out great.

I cook with onion soup mik and add an 1/2 onion, at the begining. I cook until done and add just enough potatoes and carrots for onne meal and cook until the're done. I don't like mushy veggies. When I eat leftovers, I cook new veggies in the leftover liquid and add meat. capt david

Here are a few of mine:
1 venison roast 1 package Liptons Onion soup mix 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce 1 can Cream of mushroom soup 1 clove of garlic Cut slits in roast and push in cut sections of garlic. Place roast in a large crockpot. Mix other ingredients and pour over roast. Cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours
Cola Roast Crock Pot 3-lb. game roast 1 envelope dry onion soup mix 2 cans Cola Place roast in slow cooker. Sprinkle with soup mix. Pour soda over all. Cover. Cook on Low 6-8 hours. NOTE: Diet cola does not work with this recipe.
1 venison roast 1 big can of cream of mushroom soup 1 packet of lipton onion soup mix milk (this is the item I never hear people mention) water potatoes/carrots/onions/celery, etc. I dumped the cream of mushroom in the crockpot, filled half the can with milk and stirred it in. Filled half the big can with water and stirred that in too. Put the venison in, made sure it was completely covered with the soup mix, also stirred in the onion soup mix. Add potatoes/onions/ etc as you want. Cook for 6-8 hours.

Hard to go wrong with any of that. I do prefer using a fresh clove of garlic to minced/powders. Keep the water/broth level high and the roast submerged. You are wet cooking the roast, not dry cooking. If you want you can add a little thickening agent (corn starch) to the dregs after you pull the meat & veggies and it makes a nice gravy to serve over it.
