do you get when you take pictures of your harvest in the neighborhood?
About 10 years or so ago, me and some buddys were drawn for an alligator hunt. Since we all forgot our cameras we decided to take pics when we arrived at my house. We had a 8 1/2 and 7 foot alligator and started laying them out to take pictures. We had neighbors lined up to see and touch the alligators. It felt like a circus.

And I'm not too fond of them either so I make sure to pluck every feather I can before I breast em.

^^^^^^hahahaha. Our trash men quite picking our trash up because we would leave opossums in it after shooting them. Now I kick the can over and shoot them as they run across the pasture.

I just got a call from my HOA Nazi and she said several people spotted me cleaning "game" in my front yard! Ask me if I could do it in my backyard.....said, "No", I don't have a tree to hang them in the back! I got duck feathers everywhere!

Earlier in the season I came home and started cleaning ducks on my tailgate in my drive way. I 5 year old comes out to watch and look at the ducks. I see this lady jog by and then like 5 minutes later she comes by again and introduces herself. She was asking about the ducks and wanted to take a picture with my daughter and the ducks...it was kind of strange but she was cute and really nice about it saying her dad used to duck hunt.
I was at first worried she was going to give me hell for killing ducks.
Dear Lord please bullwhip me for saying this but I agree, Marcstar is in the lead. Please nobody use this as a quote!!!

When we sold our old house 8 years ago it was late December. That morning I shot a 10 point and had it hanging from a tree in the back yard to skin it. Sure enough, the realtor showed up with some yuppies to show the house. And it wasn't easy hoisting that buck up the tree so they just had to deal with it.

I was cleaning birds in the driveway when my daughter was dropped off by the school bus. She was mortified. Although she did say the boys thought it was kind of cool.

On the flip side... A couple years ago I was cleaning dux in the driveway. I live in the metromess so we have alleys and the garages are in the back. A guy was walking his lab down the alley and I said hello and commented what a good looking dog he had. He couldn't see what I was doing and when I went to introduce myself I had duck juice all over my hands. I told him so he would know why I didn't shake hand not knowing if he would freak out or not.
Turned out he was a big duck hunter when he was growing up but now mainly hunts upland. We thought it was pretty funny that I hunted dux mostly (I would hunt quail if there still was such a thing around here) and have a Brittany and he has a Lab. Turned out to be the best neighbor I got.

Very funny guys. Thanks Navasot, I have to clean up some coffee from laughing so hard.
One more. I take the kids out every summer to do some jugfishing. We make a weekend out of it and usually have a big fish fry. When I get home I unload the catfish in the front yard and line them up so I can take pics of the kids with the fish. On several occasions we would have 6 or 7 vehicles parked outside to check out our catch. We even had a few that asked if they could hold the fish and take a picture. Lord I love Texas!!!

Kind of off topic but my best friend had an 8x10 framed "hero" picture of he, I and his son posing in front of three limits of all "green". With the accompanying kicker duck (so internet Game Wardens sit down and put your righteous indignation back in the bottle) of course.
I gave him this photo for Christmas and he proudly hung it on his office wall. His Secretary filed a complaint with their companies Human Resource Office because she found the picture of the murdered ducks "offensive".
His boss actually unofficially ordered him to take it down.
But back on point, anytime that I used to take pics after coming home from a hunt all the neighborhood kids used to come running so they could all get some feathers.

I got a letter from the City of Fort Worth because of the number of opossums I was throwing in the trash. I told them when I called it's not my fault that my dog kills them all the time and they smell horrible. They said I should call animal control and have them come to remove the carcasses. I just keep throwing them away though and laugh with my neighbor across the street who throws away loads of dead fish from his bass fishing excursions. Right now my trash can is full of duck carcasses but the cold should keep the smell down.

Skinned a 9 point in our garage in the suburbs when I was in highschool with my dad. Neighbors came by to compliment me on such a nice buck. We were the trashy neighbors anyways so I don't think anyone was surprised. When my girl friend lived in uptown I always worried about someone calling the cops on me as I loaded and unloaded my shotgun into the car. Those people just aren't used to seeing guns.

I had a neighbor puke his guts out. I had just gotten back from a good dove hunt. He was walking out of the house just as I ripped the head off one. His eyes turned about size of dinner plates, he turn 20 different shades of green, and hurled all over the driveway. Now he always does a quick check to see if I have any dead animals anywhere. Funny thing was, about a week before that he asked if I would take him deer hunting this year. That kind of changed his mind I guess.

I'm guessing you will be gutting the deer. If a severed dove head makes you barf..........you might be a wussy. I give him credit for giving it a chance.

I clean everything on the tailgate in the front yard. I often get neighbors walking by asking if they can have some duck/fish/hog/deer if they catch me cleaning. I might have to move my cleaning to the back yard though cause the asking line is getting longer every month. My yard use to look like Pittstate's but we got some strong winds and some good rain so most of it is gone.
