I prefer the knock down of the .270.

I vote 270 as well, but I just plain dont like 25-06. If im gonna go for a light fast 1/4 bore then Roy won my vote.

I'd go with the .270 you can't hunt and not eventually add a .270

It doesn't matter which one you pick. If you are like me then you will eventually own both anyway. Good Luck tough decision

I can't make up my mind so I say split them and go with a 264 win mag:) Sweet cal. but hard to find ammo for it.

Can't go wrong with either, but I like the .270. Bought one from a guy here on the classifieds board 4 or 5 months ago, and it's a good rifle. I like the choices for available ammo,,, least I used to!!!

Between these two calibers, the 270 wins hands down. Have everything from 17 cal to 458 Win Lott and the 270 is certainly one of my favorites. Shooting: 270 Win in the Rem 700 Mountain Rifle 130 gr Barnes TTSX # 27775 54.0 gr Ramshot Hunter 2890 fps average - best 3 shot group = .360" But is will consistently print small groups with this bullet whereas with the Nos partition, the groups were closer to the 1".

I prefer -06 but 270 is pretty well rounded.

Ballistically speaking the 25-06 is simply amazing.

I own both calibers and would not get rid of either one. 25-06 is my go to gun. cant really go wrong picking between these two calibers

I have a .270 and I love it. And even just being a .270, it has way more knockdown power than I need. But then again the 25.06 is a really flat shooting gun.
A man can never have enough guns.

Simple decision. The 25.06 does not have near the versatility of the 270. Not only for easy access to ammo, but being albe to hunt everything from elk size animals down to whitetail. You may not hear the call of the wild yet to hunt in the mountains for elk and mule deer, but most of us eventually do. NO guide will ever allow you to hunt mountain animals with a 25.06.
