Anybody ever had any luck with Hog calls? or got any responses?

A long time ago I used a tape of piglets squealing, it was very loud and very annoying
I think it took maybe 45 min before I turned it off with a bullet

I used a squealer some last year and never got anything. I have read that they are not any good and that they are a waste of time. Maybe I just don't know how to use one though...

I've had a decent amount of success with a Foxpro. The first time was by accident and one came to Lightning Jack. Shot him and buddy says switch to coon fight and see what happens. Sure enough another one comes running out and popped him. I went to foxpros site and downloaded Feeding hogs 2 and Boar Fight. If there is a big boar around and he hears Boar Fight he will charge the call looking for a fight. Its pretty cool. Our hogs moved out during deer season so I quit trying it but they showed back up on cam last month. Gonna start trying it again. It seems that u need to know where they bed down or hang out though. I don't think they can hear real well and can't be called from very far away.

Just to add...it is the most intense crazy arse thing ever when one comes charging in with its hair raised, back bowed up, and ready to whoop some arse. Gets your blood really pumping. Having done it several times I wouldn't use a hand call unless I was up a tree!

The commercial hand calls use a jack rabbit distress reed. Do they work, I don't know so in my opinion you would be better off using a feeder. I think a lot of the called hogs are more than like cases of they heard something and went to check it out. Not really coming to a call looking for food.
No, I don't make them, because I think they are more smoke and mirrors than real calls.

X2 on the FoxPro calls. I have been with aggiehunter on 3-4 occasions when we used the hog feeding and boar fighting calls. Like he said you probably need to have an idea where the hogs may be hanging out/ bedding down.

I was hunting deer one evening at my FIL's place. Not far across the fence, I could hear hogs. Apparently, there was a feeder there, cause it was the sound of feeding hogs. I took out my pig squealer call and went to town. I called one up to the fence. She came in GROWLING!!! But due to the heavy thick brush on the fenceline and it had done got dark, I never saw it. I had a hawg lite on my bow, but never would cross the fence into the clearing. That's the only time it worked for me. On another hunt, a guy use a electronic call and had success. Think it was the Fox Pro as well.
